| 笋干菜 salty dried bamboo shoots with vegetables from artist Boat Zhang's parents' former mountain village. Traditionally pressed in large containers by bare feet then weighted down with stones before drying outside on village street. The bag contains bamboo and xue cai, another vegetable particular to the location. Cooking suggestions: soup stock, dipping sauce, steam with fish, or cook between layers of meat, the shoots will soak up the fat & increase in flavour.

especially meaningful for I got this news today as today is 12-12 Chinese "double 12" online shopping festival. all goods and buyers/sellers rely on delivery(quick delivery). the photos were 11-11(another biggest online shopping festival) , so terrible!
so.. we provide another way of "slow delivery" is possible!

Sorry for lack of comms. Been bonkers at work since being back. I have
got the 3 bags of bamboo shoots for you. Here is a photo taken at the
hand over location with Simon Frank in an artist-led space called
Wooferten, during an exhibition called Gender, Genitor, Genitalia -
Rokudenashiko Tribute, curated by Hitomi Hasegawa.
kate rich Met Dan, Kwong's friend since age 11 at katie & kims on picton st. Bamboo shoots arrived via motorway from Manchester, nicely packed in tupperware. Biked home.
